IRIX 6.2にXEmacs-21.2.19を入れて試してみました。
# xemacs-*sumoを入れてMewを消したもの。
が、同様の現象になりました。

XEmacsをconfigureしたときにできるInstallationファイルは添付のようになっ
ています。
