since many people seem to be discussing their wishes...

here's my wish list:

  -ability to configure mew settings using some kind of interface
   (may be forms-mode based, customize-based, etc.) -- i know this is
   low priority, and i am currently thinking of possible designs.

  -an api for managing storage and retrieval of messages -- the idea
   is that people can write 'drivers' which intermediate between
   mew and whatever (well almost) low-level storage/retrieval
   mechanism is desired.

  -ability to use w/ mailcrypt (this package supports more than just
   pgp and gpg) -- my guess would be that this would be low priority :-)
