[mew-dist 24661] Xemacs and Mew - wrong type

Searched through the archives and FAQ and manual - can't figure this one
 out.
I am running Emacs 21.3.1 and Xemacs 21.4 (Patch 4) on FC1 with Mew 4.0.62.
  Everything works fine in Emacs - but in Xemacs every time I try to "show"
 a message I get a "wrong type" error.
Any ideas?
