The documentation is quite mysterious. My value of
mew-mark-afterstep-spec is currently

  ((42 0 0 0 0 0 0 0)
   (64 0 0 0 0 0 0 0)
   (68 2 0 2 0 0 0 0)
   (88 2 0 2 0 0 0 0)
   (111 2 0 2 0 0 0 0))

What are the numbers `42', `64', etc.? Of course, this isn't
documented in mew.texinfo :-)
