[mew-int 00515] emacs-21.1 and mew

This is slightly off topic.  Is any using mew in emacs-21.1 with
the utf-8 Japanese characters?  If so, how?  The utf-8 which
ships with emacs-21.1 doesn't cover the block in utf-8 which has
Japanese.  The old way, (Mule-UCS addition) doesn't seem to function in
emacs-21.1 when I try to add it.
