Hello,
I am frequently playing email games and receive ASCII boards looking
something like this (Tori Shogi):
1 2 3 4 5 6 7
+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+ Black (ratna)
g | bQr| bPt| | | | bPt| | g
+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+ in-hand: Cr Sw Sw Sw Sw Sw
f | | bCr| | | | bPh| bQl| f
+----+----*----+----+----*----+----+
e | bSw| bSw| bSw| bFa| | bSw| wSw| e
+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+
d | | | bSw| bSw| | | wSw| d
+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+
c | wSw| wSw| | | | wSw| | c
+----+----*----+----+----*----+----+
b | | wCr| | | wFa| | | b
+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+ in-hand: Cr
a | wQl| wPt| | wPh| | wPt| wQr| a
+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+ White (edi.werner)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Now, I would like to make mew display such messages (which I can identify
by sender address or subject) automatically in such a way that all pieces
b[A-Z][a-z]+ would be displayed in, e.g. bold face and all piece w[A-Z][a-z]+
would be displayed in e.g. light green. It would be nice if additionally
the b or w at the beginning would be hidden. Of course, the nicest thing
of all would make emacs display according bitmap files, but mere highlighting
would be very helpful already.
How can things like that be achieved? I've tried with font-lock-mode
w.o. success and remarked that mew uses it's own code to to the
highlighting but I didn't understand how and where to add my own
definitions.
Best thanks
Edi
