I can't display word documents. Inserting in the message buffer
inserts the mime part undecoded and I don't know how to pipe the mime part
to an external command automatically.

Antiword takes a word file or stdin and displays the contents to a file/terminal/stdout.
Output format is configurable (but ISO-latin-* is fine for me). However, the
above lines seem to give mi no output at all.

I did, but it didn't help. I didn't find anything word-related in there :-(
BTW, the link on the mew homepage to mew-2.2rc3.tar.gz is broken. (I downloaded
mew-2.2rc4.tar.gz via ftp.)
