Hi,
For perusing multiple folders, you could take a look at Mew's virtual
folder mode (in the info). It does somthing like what you are looking
for. You may need to write some code to automate your folder
gathering, since it looks like it always wants to prompt for a list of
folders to virtualize.
This is based on a quick glance at the info file, so there may be some
gotchas (or, more likely, useful features) that I missed.
