What media type is official for "jar"?
I have checked
http://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/index.html
but I could not find any media type name for "jar".
P.S.
If Application/Octet-Stream is suitable for "jar" AND if you would
like to set the media type that a file's suffix is unknown to
Application/Octet-Stream, put the following to ~/.mew.el.
(setq mew-content-type mew-ct-apo)
