Yes, of course. But when it appears as an attachment in MEW, it doesn't show as
the underlying code, but as HTML "mode" (not "mode" in the Emacs sense, but
terms of HTML display, where you see the effects of the styling, rather than
the tags). When I save that (C-x, C-w) with an .html extension, it doesn't get
saved as an HTML file, but as plain text.

All of the HTML code is lost. But like I said, I figured out how to do this,
so no need to bother discussing these points.
