[mew-int 01234] Mew 3.1 on Mac OS X

I have been using Mew at home on my Linux machine but recently got a
Macintosh computer at work.  I have installed Mew 3.1 there but am
having a problem getting it to work well on the Mac (with Emacs
21.3.50).  I believe the paths are not being set or are not seen.

When trying to goto another folder, for example, +backup, the error
message shown is "Could not find 'mewls'."

I would appreciate any help on this, I'd be disappointed if I'd have
to use the Netscape mailer ...
