[mew-int 01638] ^M oddity

all of a sudden (i thought the only change i made to my
.xemacs/init.el was to change my smtp server) i'm getting
^M's at the end of every line on some emails (not all
emails)

any idea what i broke in my config? this happens on both
xemacs -nw and xemacs-as-an-X-app

if i mail myself a test email i get the ^M's in the received
message, but not in the copy in the +sent folder
