No.

I have changed my wrapper script for mairix (as you suggest below) so
that it prints the number of arguments and the arguments itself:
mew (4.0.64 and 4.0.66) passes all file names
in decreasing numerical order.
I am using the " command in a single folder.

Yes, that's a harder problem because folders are only implicit in mairix
(by way of the file name).
