This hasn't been working for me with the latest mew (6.1.51) versions
under Linux (SuSE 10.3),
GNU Emacs 22.1.1.
Even if I clobber the .mew-passwd.gpg file and try again, setting a new
master password,
I always get prompted for the master password three times and it always
fails.
The linux version of gpg is (GnuPG) 2.0.4-svn0.
The master password has been working beautifully under Irix (mew 5.2.53,
gpg 1.4.2,
GNU Emacs 22.1.1) for years.

Has anybody else seen this, and have any suggestions to fix or diagnose it?

thanks,
