Thanks a lot! This worked perfectly, so I'll try filing this as a bug
againsta stunnel, then.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, how did you get that string out of
imap.utu.fi? Meaning, what program did you use to connect to it? I
thought to try that but couldn't figure out how.
