In that instance of emacs, yes. But since I killed that instance, no,
I cannot.

It figured it might be something like that, and that it would be one
of those "can't happen" things. It might even be a bug in emacs
itself, though accidentally deleting a buffer is something I never
heard about it doing.

Maybe it's just as well to ignore this, unless more reports of the
same problem start coming in. As I said in my message, I was reporting
it just in case.
