When I try to send a message by pressing C-c C-c mew gets hung up with the following message displayed in the minibuffer.
Connecting to the smtp server...
And I am never prompted for my password. I figured this was due to some incorrect setting in my configuration, but I get the same problem trying it out on 2 seperate email accounts.
Here are the settings for instance with my yahoo mail asia account:
(setq mew-smtp-server "smtp.mail.yahoo.com")
(setq mew-pop-user "rubinglen")
(setq mew-pop-server "pop.mail.yahoo.com")
(setq mew-pop-auth 'pass)
(setq mew-pop-port nil)
(setq mew-pop-ssl t)
(setq mew-use-smtp-auth t)
(setq mew-smtp-ssl t)
(setq mew-smtp-port 465)
(setq mew-pop-ssl-port 995)
(setq mew-ssl-verify-level 0)

The easy solution is to not run emacs in a terminal, but use the GUI
version. With emacs running in a terminal, I cannot think of anything
you can do from within emacs to alleviate the problem, since after all
emacs is not involved in the process of copying text from the terminal.
Oh, but another way would be to not copy the URL at all, but use
browse-url-at-point. Your emacs setup may need some tweaking for that
to work. See variable: browse-url-browser-function.
