Yes.

On XEmacs, the answer is yes. However, on Emacs, the answer is no even
if Mew provides the common cache disable mechanism. This is because
Emacs recodes the resent input from terminal for a while. XEmacs
provides a mechanism to disable this recode but Emacs doesn't. That is
due to Stallman's strange policy that we don't need privacy (or
password is crazy).
It seems that you use Emacs 20.3. So, take care.
