Will you find emacs*-dl*.rpm package? Maybe it includes the Mule
4.1 feature. Ask RPM guys for the help. (I know that Debian's
emacs20-dl package includes the Mule 4.1 patch.)
BTW, Mule-UCS works well even if you use vanilla Emacs 20.7 (as
Mule 4.0).
If you want to use utf-8 on the outside of Mew, Mule 4.1 will
help you. It supports auto detection of utf-8/16.
