Mew!

I have recently noticed that Mew (2.2, I am using Debian mew 2.2-1
package) is running slow under the following conditions:

1) Getting emails with either +index or a viewed message as the
current buffer. Jumping to the minibuffer significantly speed
things up (we are talking something in the range of 3-5 time faster
   for single emails).

2) While sending emails, Mew can pause. A jump to or from the
minibuffer kicks the transmission into operation again. When
sending a 1 MB attachement I had to make about 20 jumps to avoid
timeout. If I do not do jumps, the transfer will timeout.

I get email from an POP3 server over a 56k modem.
I send email to an SMTP server over a 56k modem.

I think that the problems are related. I did not see this kind of
problems in earlier versions of Mew.

Anyway, both these bugs are very annoying.

While I am at it, how can I disable the partial fetch?
Also, Mew leaves messages on the server, I want it to fetch all of
them!

Since I do not speak or read Japanese I would be most greatfull if
there where a more complete manual in English.

I use Mew for both my private and office machines and it handles all
my emails. Still a few things to fix, but part of them migth be local
configuration, and the manuals I have doesn't help me, or it migth be
bugs/missfeatures.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers,
Magnus
