[mew-int 01663] encoding problem

Hi,

I have set up mew at work and encounter the following problem:

Whenever I use other characters than latin-1 (that is unicode Sorbian or 
Russian), mew encodes the mail not with utf-8 which is the default, but with 
iso-2022-jp-2 and the mail gets scrambled on the other side. 
I've checked the value of mew-charset-m17n and it is set to "utf-8". Why does 
mew use "iso-2022-jp-2" instead?
