Mew should ask your password wehn you type C-cC-z.

To decrypt this PGP data, your secret key is necessary. 
Since I don't have it, I cannot investigate what happened.

What happens if you type C-cC-z againt a message (only) signed by PGP?
Can the PGP data be verified?
